July 19 '07: The Business Roundtable has provided a disaster response and preparedness website for companies looking to increase their response capabilities. On the website, the Roundtable has posted a page featuring best practices which have been implemented by member organizations to help their continuity of operations and resiliency.
In addition to disaster preparedness and recovery, the Roundtable recently released a press notice calling for greater climate impact awareness and impact best practices to be employed to help business reduce their carbon footprints - although no specifics were given.

The disaster response best practices website lists four categories: prepare; respond; recover; and rebuild. Members of the Roundtable have been asked to provide their best practices so that other organizations can follow suit if the situation seems applicable. Roundtable Chairman W.W. Grainger said that American private sector organizations can provide valuable assets to help communities and businesses recover after disasters.

"We've realized that if we combine our diverse assets, experience and expertise, and collaborate now on finding new solutions to disaster response, our impact will be even greater when the next disaster occurs."
